Update #4 Initial Design Research

Wayfinding Boards: Wayfinding Elements in Emigration Museum in Gdynia We would like to use the layout and sandwich board idea within our project while also finding ways of using augmented reality with an already sufficient wayfinding experience. Lighting wirh Duratrans We also found that the Denver Performing Arts Center has lack of lighting at night.  Numbering We will be using a number to exemplify multiple sandwich boards within multiple areas: EX 1/4 Ellie Caulkins Opera House Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre Helen Bonfils Theatre Complex Garage

Overview and background of the NPO Denver Arts and Venues Augmented Reality through wayfinding Objective Create an augmented reality with a wayfinding experience within the Denver Performing Arts Complex in order to present visitors with a richer sense of the complex. Target Audience Standard: Patrons arriving for performances, visitors, guests, etc. Power: Tech savvy, ready to interact with wayfinding points Tone and Image: Funny and casual, or formal The tone is both educational, artistic and classy. This project will advance the Denver Arts & Venues brand by branding this effort as a collaboration between the resident companies, DAV, and CU. Update #2 Post Meeting

After meeting with Mark the COO of Denver Arts and Venues and Peter the Operations Assistant, regarding the project we came to the conclusions: They want a Way-Finding + AR experience to highlight the specific theaters and the events within them while highlighting this as a collaborative effort between DAV and CU Denver.  There will be money to fund signage, flyers, HP Reveal and what is needed. We have a pitch presentation in two weeks in front of the Executive Board. Update #1 Answered Questions

Here are the questions that will help us moving forward:   What deliverables are needed? (We have some ideas and recommendations that we'll be happy to discuss as well) The project we discussed with Michelle is an extension of the ongoing excellent work that CU has been doing in The Next Stage Gallery. The Gallery currently houses various CU exhibits and in particular a fascinating VR project that goes behind the scenes and on the stage of rehearsals for Opera Colorado’s La Boheme . The exhibit also features Augmented Reality images that have artists “come to life.” Next up in the queue is the Colorado Ballet. If you haven’t seen it, check it out. For this project, what we discussed was a project that takes the AR component and expands it into the Galleria. Overview

Our team Jinju Park,  Jonathan Keyek-Franssen, Katherine Hazelton, Matt Peulen, and Sean O'Brien. Will be working together to create a design package for The Denver Performing Arts Center. We will combine our individual style guides and creative briefs into a unified presentation that will be used to pitch our project. We will be presenting this project to The Denver Performing Art center and trying to sell our design aesthetic. With the feedback, we will design a typographic and system for the package. We will all utilize our best assets to create an entire unified package.
